My intention with these workshops is to offer a time and space to deepen our understanding of child development, our powers of observation, and to heighten our consciousness. With an understanding of child development, we are more keenly aware of what we can offer our children that will meet their capacities rather than frustrate or overwhelm them. With our powers of observations, we will be able to understand our children’s behavior, to offer them what they really need in that moment. And, with our striving for deeper consciousness we can be present for our children, saying what we really mean to say, asking for what we want, and living with our loved ones in consciousness and present way.

4/19/17 Developing Conscious Language

While our children are learning to speak, and express themselves, how can we nurture their language development while giving them clear communication? For a child to learn to speak, they have to do it. Are we talking to our children to much? Are we giving them clear messages? We will look at the language we are using to nurture our children, while understanding how children’s communication develops.

4/26/17 Nurturing the Will Force

Children are powerful – this is a good thing. But how can we interact with their power and nurture this will force into positive actions, activities and learning opportunities? If we picture a river – it needs the river banks to flow strong and with force. As parents and educators, we provide the banks of these rivers.  This workshop is about nurturing the will of children, nurturing their focus, and nurturing their relationship with the world around them.

5/3/17 Imagination, Creativity – Media

What is imagination, what is creativity, and what part does media play in our children’s creative development? Creativity develops like the physical body. There are stages and ways in which these stages can be nurtured to assist our imagination to deepen. And how do we nurture these natural forces. And why? How does media interact with these creative capacities?

5/10/17 Rhythm

What is rhythm, and why is it important when nurturing the growing child – of all ages? People often ask me how my classes are able to engage the young children in ways they haven’t seen in other classes or learning environments. The main answer is rhythm. Offering activities that breath with the energy of an outbreath and the energy of the in-breath. This workshop will focus on ways in which we can more consciously nurture the rhythm in our everyday lives, to enable our children to move through the day with calm confidence.

 5/17/17 Home, School, Community

Parenting is not done alone, we work in collaboration with our home culture our school culture and our community. How can we consciously develop these three communities to nurture our developing child and our family life? Becoming aware and conscious of these communities and their support and influence will help nurture our families as we make choices of schools, and activates, and cultural choices, i.e., media, diet etc.

$30 per workshop, or $130 for all five workshops
