Knitting is a fun and therapeutic skill to learn.  The curriculum is designed so that you can come as a beginner and continue through the year increasing your skill and learning to make many wonderful things. The first project is a scarf. For this project, you will learn to cast on stitches and knit your very own scarf. In future classes, you will learn casting off, finishing your project, new stitches, as well as more advanced projects (a dolls blanket, potholders, leg and arm warmers and more).

(1A) Winter Parenting/Child Development Workshops with Ms. Molly - 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Ms. Molly

Thursday - 1/24/19
Thursday - 1/31/19
Thursday - 2/7/19

This series of three workshops will focus on nurturing the independence of children. Our children are growing and exploring the world. If we help them too much we impede their experience of exploration, mastery, as well as independence.

However, if we don't guide them towards behaviors that are important/healthy for them, like nourishing food, and a healthy sleep life, we are also robbing them of developing a healthy habit life that will remain with them into adulthood.

How can our children gain an independence that is developmentally appropriate?

How can we nurture our children to be community members, as opposed to demanding individuals expecting the world to serve them?

How can we offer boundaries to support the development of our children?

My intention with these workshops is to offer a time and space to deepen our understanding of child development, our powers of observation, and to heighten our consciousness. With an understanding of child development, we are more keenly aware of what we can offer our children that will meet their capacities rather than frustrate or overwhelm them. With our powers of observations, we will be able to understand our children’s behavior, to offer them what they really need in that moment. And, with our striving for deeper consciousness we can be present for our children, saying what we mean to say, asking for what we want, and living with our loved ones in consciousness and present way.

Offered for Adults only
